Compulsory schools and upper secondary schools
In Vadstena there are three municipal comprehensive schools, Katarina School, St Peter's School and Petrus Magni school. There is also a school outside the city centre, Rogslösa School.
Vadstena also has a municipal upper secondary school, Vadstenagymnasiet.
Vadstena municipality has a study and careers officer who is available for discussions and information regarding further studies and career choices. There are opportunities to find out about the region's range of training on offer. In Linköping there is a university.
Health and medical care
In Vadstena municipality there is the county council's welfare centre, with a child welfare centre. In the case of acute illness or serious injury, contact the A&E Department at Motala Hospital. Dental treatment can be obtained under the national dental health service or with a private dentist.

Good communications from Vadstena to Motala, Skänninge, Mjölby and Linköping, which are within commuting distance. Within the municipality there is a service line with free travel.
