Engineers, technologists and computer scientists

Last updated: 2/2-2023

Engineers, technologists and computer scientists are unregulated professions in Sweden. This means that the educational programmes may vary substantially. In Sweden one differentiates between the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering. The education for the latter degree is longer than for the former and more focused on the latest technologies.

Supplementary education

For some professional groups there are bridging programmes at universities and university colleges in Sweden. They entitle you to student aid and are 1–2 years long. There are programmes for economists, engineers, nurses, social workers, systems analysts, doctors, and teachers, for example.
